Why I'm in Uniform

In case anyone is still wondering why I'm in the middle of the Arizona desert training to join the National Guard, here are two links that explain things far more eloquently than I can:

-Flight 93 Transcript

-Zacarias Moussaoui gloats over the 9/11 atrocities in court.

And I STILL know so many people who are willing to dismiss what was done, or to say it was our fault, or even nuttier...that it was Bush and his cronies. I am currently reading "Menace in Europe" by Claire Berlinsky, and have gotten the library to order "While Europe Slept" by Bruce Bawer. Plus a few others along that line.

Thank you for your service, it sounds so trite, but it's really heartfelt. Today's payday, and my co-worker and I usually go over to Sierra Vista to Chili's on paydays. They have an excellent NY strip steak. There are always families from the Fort there, and of course the younger guys and gals out having fun. Maybe we'll run into each other sometime, and we'll treat you to a meal. (smile, I'm serious)

And did you happen to see this?

Dear Heretical:
Thank you for posting the transcript via CNN. Anybody who continues to compare the "war on terrorism" to the "war on poverty", or the "war on drugs", as some of my cohorts in academe insist on doing, is ill-informed, at best. Thanks for sharing this with us.
