Outrageous News of the Day
Courtesy of Greg McClay, Michael McGrorty writes that the County of Los Angeles has refused to hire him as a librarian, almost certainly due to his status as a veteran. Yes, apparently, they won't hire him because he is a veteran. This is utterly appalling, and I wish Mr. McGrorty full success with his suit.

This treatment is indeed outrageous. I certainly applaud the lawsuit. While it is fairly common, I can't imagine that ALL of the vacant job postings had already been filled internally by the bosses daughter, the councilperson's son, etc. Musch as I am disturbed with the amount of litigation in our nation, I heartily applaud this deserved effort to shed some light on a possibly very dark and foggy internal procedure.
