Taking the Pledge

Jack Stephens has officially given up commenting on Mark Rosenzweig. As Jack eloquently puts it, "(w)ho gives a rat's ass what Mark Rosenzweig has to say about anything at all? Enough already."

Frankly, I think Jack's right. As much joy as I get from fisking Rosenzweig's inane rants, I'll make the sacrifice and forego such entertainment in future. It's for the public good.

I understand Jack’s point. He’s had his share of crap from Mark Rosenzweig and Jack courageously stood up to him. But it’s hard to know what to do with people like Rosenzweig. Sometimes confronting them and putting them in their place is what’s needed (Annoyed Librarian did a fantastic job with this). Sometimes ignoring them is the best thing to do. I am glad to see his vicious attack on Greg McClay backfire. He deserves to be slammed before good people ostracize him.

Wow, keep this up guys and Freadom will have a monopoly on Stalinzweig reporting!!!!

I really don't find it fun to dissent from two of my fav blogs, but I think the record is clear, that he, specifically, and the SRRT, in general, have had a very influential role, especially in getting very ridiculous resolutions passed by ALA that turn out to be hugely ignored in the real world. Let's not confuse influence with the public, and influence on the Council. Mark most certainly has the later. Anyone wanting (who would want; i had to for my final MLS project) to look back in SRRT history and see all the many resolutions that were drafted or co-drafted by Mark, which then were adopted by Council, would see that he will unfortunately probably find his way into the next generation of library biography resources....

Hopefully his sojourn in the People's Repbulic will cure him of his Marxist-Leninist illusions...

Annoyed Librarian adds an important dimension to the world of conservative right-wing bloggers. The big 4--Greg,Jack, Dave and Matthew-- and we can now add AL, our own Snow White! You all keep the rest of us brave to take on the liberals and show them for what they are in all their multicultural mania.
SpeaK English, already!!
We do not need to listen to the social responsibility people. Since when do we have to care about that?
nO MORE mARK!

"As for my politics, I'll leave you to guess, but you'd probably guess wrong. I think the labels liberal and conservative severely limit the range of political discourse in America, which is why I don't use them to describe anyone's politics, as the attentive might have noticed. Too many people substitute political labels for political thought, which is why I prefer to address particular issues."
