Geek Blogging: The Star Wars Edition

Some miscellaneous links and observations:

-It's amazing who has taken up blogging these days. Via QandO comes word that none other than Darth Vader has joined the Blogosphere:

Do you ever have one of those days where you find yourself asking, "Hey, I know I'm bad, but what did I do to deserve this?"

Have I mentioned before that I am surrounded by idiots? Let me cut to chase and just tell you up front: the rebels got away. All of them. General Veers, bless his heart, must have destroyed two dozen armed speeders and and an entire line of infantry -- but those were just ants. We failed to take Mothma, Organa, Rieekan, Skywalker or even the traiterous fish Ackbar.

You might be thinking some fruit would come of our ensnaring the Millennium Falcon as it fled Hoth. You would be a damned fool optimist. My elite squadron of StarDestroyers proved itself utterly incapable of a securing a single unescorted freighter travelling less than the speed of light.

I mean, come on.

You know, there are days when I'm not sure I want to blog anymore, that it just seems to be not worth the trouble. It's news like this that inspires me to continue. If the Dark Lord of the Sith can take time from his busy schedule to blog, then damnit so can I.

-It wouldn't be real geek blogging without a link to Ace of Spades. In this post, Ace links to Kevin Smith's review of Revenge of the Sith. To sum up, Kevin really likes it, though beware the spoilers. Ace also asks the perennial geek question: who would prevail if Imperial Stormtroopers confronted Federation "red shirts"? Personally, I think the Stormtroopers would clean house.

-Finally, in case you're wondering, yes I am going to go see Revenge of the Sith. I'm trying to avoid the hype, even though the reviews posted so far on Rotten Tomatoes are mostly positive. After the lameness of the last two prequels, my expectations are decidedly modest. I'm not asking for Revenge to be as good as Lord of the Rings, just that it not suck.
